Aja Hernandez is an associate marriage and family therapist who specializes in treating depression, anxiety, trauma/post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), substance use concerns, family issues, codependency, infidelity, abuse, relationship challenges, life transitions, and women’s reproductive mental health. She provides culturally sensitive, person-centered care and incorporates evidence-based approaches that include acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), trauma-focused CBT, motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based practices, somatic techniques, strengths-based therapy, and family therapy.

Aja earned a bachelor of arts in psychology and a master of science in marriage and family therapy from the University of Southern California.

Aja believes therapy is a collaborative process and strives to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel understood and empowered to grow. Her approach focuses on helping individuals explore patterns, beliefs, and experiences that may contribute to current challenges while building on strengths that support healing and meaningful change.

Outside of therapy, she enjoys spending time at the beach, practicing yoga, attending fitness classes, and exploring the connection between movement, mindfulness, and overall well-being.
