Jerry Hendrix is a clinical psychotherapist in training and a graduate student at the Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine, where he is pursuing his Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. He brings a warm, collaborative, and client-centered approach to care, creating a supportive space grounded in acceptance, empathy, and curiosity. Jerry partners with clients to foster self-discovery, build on personal strengths, and promote emotional resilience.
Before pursuing a career in therapy, Jerry spent nearly a decade working in finance. His experience in investment banking, private equity, and venture capital across New York City and Toronto provides him with a unique perspective on the challenges of high-performance work environments, career transitions, and work-life integration.
Jerry has a special passion for working with individuals with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and its common comorbidities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), anxiety, and depression. He is committed to supporting neurodivergent individuals with tools and strategies to thrive both personally and professionally. His clinical interests also include working with clients from underrepresented backgrounds, particularly those exploring cultural identity and navigating nondiverse spaces—an area inspired by his long-standing involvement with organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club of America and Sponsors for Educational Opportunity.
Jerry draws from therapeutic modalities such as Psychodynamic Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), always tailoring his approach to each client’s unique needs and goals. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, creative writing, exploring film and television, and experimenting with fermentation in the kitchen.
