Taryn Joyce is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She brings a thoughtful, person-centered approach to care and treats a variety of conditions, including attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), social phobia, mood disorders, psychosis, and adjustment-related challenges.
Taryn enjoys working with patients from all walks of life and values creating a collaborative relationship in care. In order to best understand patients, Taryn explores their physical, mental, psychosocial, and spiritual backgrounds to help build a treatment plan that’s tailored to them. She aims to meet her patients where they are and help them move forward at a pace that feels right for them.
Taryn received her master’s in nursing from California State University, Long Beach. She transitioned to community health after receiving her bachelor’s in nursing from Mount St. Mary’s University. This is when Taryn began integrating therapeutic and nursing interventions to support underserved populations.
Outside of work, Taryn enjoys reading, watching movies, exploring new coffee shops and museums, and caring for her rescued betta fish, Blanco, who’s often supervising from the side of her desk.
Taryn recognizes that receiving mental health treatment, especially the first appointment, can feel intimidating. Her goal is to create a warm, welcoming space, where patients feel heard and supported.
