Vanessa Fernandez is an associate clinical social worker who specializes in supporting adults, seniors, and diverse communities through a person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approach to therapy. Inspired by her desire to support others and address barriers to culturally competent mental healthcare, Vanessa is passionate about helping individuals feel seen, understood, and empowered throughout their healing journey.
Vanessa earned both her master and bachelor degrees in social work from the University of Massachusetts Global. She is experienced in working with individuals navigating depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, behavioral challenges, women’s health concerns, gender-related issues, and life transitions.
Vanessa is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can show up as their authentic selves. She uses evidence-based approaches, including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based interventions, and strengths-based practices. She collaborates with clients to build resilience, develop healthy coping skills, increase self-awareness, and achieve meaningful personal growth.
