Yasmine Shahbaz fosters a warm, nurturing, mindful space in which individuals can empower themselves to overcome life’s many challenges.  She graduated with her Master’s Degree at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) and utilizes a client-centered, trauma-informed approach, using various therapeutic methods to best meet the needs of each individual.  Yasmine is experienced in providing interventions grounded in mindfulness, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).  She recognizes the importance of understanding the various aspects of an individual’s environment (social, political, familial, spiritual, physical, economic, etc.) in the delivery of quality and integrative mental health care. 

Yasmine has experience working in various settings, including schools, larger communities (mezzo level), intensive outpatient programs (IOP’s), and partial hospitalization programs (PHP’s).  She has worked with adults and adolescents with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, eating disorders, addiction, relationship conflicts, suicidal & self-harm ideation, and trauma, and has extensive experience working with LGBTQ+ communities. She is strongly rooted in social justice, and uses a culturally-informed, progressive approach to compassionately meet clients where they are.
